Special Educational Needs (SEN) at Walton CEVC Primary School

We are proud that our school is an inclusive school which caters for a wide range of children’s needs. SEN is co-ordinated by Mrs Cooper who has held a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs Coordination since 2012. In 2018 she was awarded her MA in Education with a focus on Special Educational Needs with distinction. It is a broad role that involves working alongside class teachers and support staff to oversee provision for pupils with an identified special educational need, working with educational support professionals and liaising with parents. Mrs Cooper is in school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

We have good liaison with the support services and our parent family support worker (PFSA), Mrs Jess Lee who also supports one of our feeder secondary schools, Crispin Academy. These services contribute to support for a wide range of children and their families.
